Writing Workshops and Retreats in Ireland
Many aspiring writers like to travel to other countries and participate in writing workshops that offer an inspiring twist. One such course is offered in an Irish castle in Sligo, Ireland. The renovated castle is 800 years’ old and located in a relaxing rural setting where advanced writers can spend four days in tiny groups of eight learning how to hone in on their skills.
The property includes over five hundred acres of private gardens and woodlands where outdoor walks will inspire and refresh. The workshop includes two 1-on-1 consultations with the instructor, the main workshop, a room with ensuite bathroom, four lunches, two dinners and a writing journal.
The focus of the workshop is learning how to write one’s memoirs. The course was developed by the instructor over twenty years’ ago to help follow a step by step approach towards achieving the documentation for their writer’s memoirs either for publication, personal therapy or for the family.
This idyllic area of Ireland is known as Yeats’ country and will provide the visitor the seclusion and quiet beauty to focus on the pursuit of the craft of accessing their life’s experiences. They will be taught how to transfer memories to writing
