Ireland is a land of culture, art and beautiful scenery. No one visit Ireland and leaves disappointed. Whether its the cozy pubs and amazing beer, the beautiful ocean views on either coasts, the friendly people, small quaint cities or the history, art and religion, there is something to see for everyone, and everyone leaves knowing the have experienced something new and unique.
Ireland in general is not an expensive place to visit. Although the food can be more on the pricy side, the shopping, hotels and transportation are not, so it makes up for the food.
Dublin is the capitol of Ireland and to get the full experience of Ireland one must visit there. However, if you want to make the stay inexpensive, the best way to do that is to stay in a hostel and buy food at the local super markets. Minimizing the bar hopping also helps make the stay in Dublin inexpensive.
Another inexpensive place to visit in Ireland is Galway. This city is clear across to the other coast, but its is one of the most beautiful and famous places in Ireland. Because it is a small city, the local hotels and hostels cost next to nothing and the food is much cheaper than Dublin.Keep looking, there’s more: Day 2 of our stay in Dublin – Dublin, Ireland

Ireland is a beautiful, culturally and historically rich country with beautiful scenery, friendly people, great beer and so much to see. Thousands travel to Ireland yearly and many study abroad in Ireland in hopes of enriching their cultural experiences and really getting to know just what Ireland is all about.
The history of Ireland is interesting. Most of it is through to have been covered in ice until around 9,000 years ago. People started to settle there not too long after and ever since then, Ireland was inhabited by small tribes of people who soon began to group together and after a long history of war and struggle (in fact until recently) Ireland finally settled.
To experience the culture of Ireland the best way to get around is in your own rented car or on foot (through the cities, especially). This will get you places buses and trains may not go. Visit the history and art museums in Dublin, and see the ancient historical monuments throughout that city and many others. To get the truest experience of Ireland, one must go to a pub crawl and have a fun night at the many bars including a taste of Ireland’s famous beer, food and friendly people.

Many aspiring writers like to travel to other countries and participate in writing workshops that offer an inspiring twist. One such course is offered in an Irish castle in Sligo, Ireland. The renovated castle is 800 years’ old and located in a relaxing rural setting where advanced writers can spend four days in tiny groups of eight learning how to hone in on their skills.
The property includes over five hundred acres of private gardens and woodlands where outdoor walks will inspire and refresh. The workshop includes two 1-on-1 consultations with the instructor, the main workshop, a room with ensuite bathroom, four lunches, two dinners and a writing journal.
The focus of the workshop is learning how to write one’s memoirs. The course was developed by the instructor over twenty years’ ago to help follow a step by step approach towards achieving the documentation for their writer’s memoirs either for publication, personal therapy or for the family.
This idyllic area of Ireland is known as Yeats’ country and will provide the visitor the seclusion and quiet beauty to focus on the pursuit of the craft of accessing their life’s experiences. They will be taught how to transfer memories to writing

Nothing says traditional like an old-style pub found in Ireland. Ireland boasts several in the various counties, as the tradition of meeting at the pub continues. These small “hole in the wall” type pubs are dedicated to giving residents and visitors alike, a meeting place where tall tales are shared.

The first of the top five pubs lies in the beautiful plain of the smoky mountain region, neighboring creameries, co-ops and racetracks. Several antiquedated monastaries line the wet county roads. The pub is Fethard, home to the successful thoroughbred stud in the world, “Coolmore Stud”. Tales of this amazing stallion continue to be told in the proud pub crowd. The smoke stained walls house pictures of revolutionaries, trophy yielding racehorse owners and members of the Bloody Sunday football team. “We wine you, dine you and then bury you” can be heard through the regular pub-goers of the area, as the pub also houses a restaurant and a good old-fashioned undertaker service.

Abbeyleix is home to Morrissey’s old-style pub. This pub features the old-time biscuit tin lids and old clocks that have been torn apart to build the walls that stand up between the seating areas. Along Morrissey’s old walls are shelves that boast products from the earlier days of Abbeyleix – large jars filled with candies, an antique slicing machine, Boyne Valley cornflakes boxes and the pub’s own Famous Tea, neighboring the scales where they weighed out the packages. The pub is dimly lit with lamps that are harbored on the ceiling and kept high by metal beams that run through the tavern. Visitors to Morrissey’s get a full taste of history when sitting on the old chairs and seating areas along the rough wooden bar.

At Clancy’s, Breda and Ger Clancy have kept the feel of the old Edwardian style pub as original as possible. Known as one of the best music pubs in eastern Ireland, Thursday nights Clancy’s becomes a meeting place for musicians. Fiddles, bodhrans, flutes and mandolins break the Irish night sky, and allow the background for a sing-along from visitors. Sheet music lines the tobacco stained walls of this pub although nobody seems to notice as they sit upon the benches and assorted chairs, moving with the flow of the music, and moving their feet to the beat of the traditional song choice.

Tigh Neachtain’s in Galway City and Thomas Conolly’s in Sligo are both found to be the good old-fashioned pub you would expect to find in Ireland. Wooden walls and tables give seating to the literary and musically inclined. Thomas Connolly’s is host to an old pot-bellied stove at one end of the pub. Tigh Neachtain’s is located on one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares, making it a popular venue when wanting to enjoy an evening at the local pubs.

While it is no surprise that Ireland is known for having a large amount of castles, one of the hardest decisions to make when traveling to the country is which ones to visit. The following castles will surely give you an unforgettable experience as you explore Ireland’s countryside, history, and overall charm. Trim Castle, located in County Meath, is Ireland’s largest Anglo-Norman castle, with its wide array of surrounding beauty and medieval style, you will be transported into another time as you view and walk the grounds. Dunlace Castle, which lies in Antrim County, gives an excellent view to the Antrim Coast, as its sits on a rocky edge facing the sea; While the exact history of the castle is left to speculation, the location alone will have you entranced. Tullynally Castle, in County Westmeath will take anyone’s breath away with its gorgeous scenery, size, and longstanding history of being home to the Pakenham family for the past 350 years. Although thronged by visitors every year, Blarney Castle in County Cork is a must see.
